1 - Forget the rules and what other people tell you.

Don’t listen to the so called avant garde who will try to dictate and shape how you shoot. Shoot from your own heart and not from your head, trust your instincts and it will come through in your photos!

2 - Empty the Clip!

Take as many shots as you can of the scene, why wouldn’t you? Shoot till your battery is dead or there is no more room on the memory card, the more choice in the edit the better! If you are shooting digital there really is no excuse!

3 - Don’t panic if you don’t get the shot…

Don’t worry if you head out for a few hours and get home without a shot, street is challenging - thats why we love it. It takes time and patience, when you get that shot it will be worth it, trust me! Just take your time and enjoy :)

4 - Don’t hesitate, no fear!

You need to boss your first shot, don’t hesitate. Just walk up and blast it, street is scary theres no two ways around it. But if you smash that first shot it will give you the confidence for the whole day, likewise if you stall out - your day is done!

5 - Don’t focus too much on technical settings.

Forget about the settings on the camera, the content is more important than what aperture setting you used, shoot on auto if you have to. Just make sure you get the shot, who cares how you got it!
